The pilgrim massage focuses on fast and deep muscle recovery after the long walking stages. It offers immediate muscle relief, reducing overload in the legs, calves, back and feet, activates circulation and venous return, reduces inflammation in the feet and ankles, facilitates drainage of toxins accumulated through exertion and provides deep mental relaxation after the physical challenge.
To ensure your safety after the effort of the Camino, we do not perform this massage if you have open blisters, ulcers or bleeding sores on the skin. We also do not perform the pilgrim massage on people with acute infections or feverish conditions, deep vein thrombosis or recent phlebitis, bone fractures or acute sprains without prior medical diagnosis, or serious infectious diseases or skin inflammations.
You may notice muscle soreness or sensitivity during the 24-48 hours after the session, a feeling of tiredness or immediate drowsiness due to the deep relaxation of the nervous system, as well as slight redness in the treated areas due to the natural increase in blood flow.
